Blue Bow Mixed Media Neckace
oldnavy.gap.com
Looty Booty, I'm a doofus, sharing some of my recent purchases. I didn't buy the necklaces in the picture just the black dress. The pants I bought to wear to work and I'm very happy with them. The one pair (second down) I've been wearing to the work the last few days and I'm happy to report I think I actually could have gone down a size. Shopping while you're bloated is not recommended. I also got a black and white polka dot see through top that I quite like, wore it on Monday - I do have to say though the sleeves are a bit weird. That isn't all I bought...
I like to buy DVD's, I don't know if I have previously mentioned that but I do. Some of the stuff I buy is a bit dorky but oh well, that is I, a bit dorky.
I also bought a pair of sparkly denim skinny jeans from Forever 21, simple black leggings from Forever 21, black cardigan with heart pattern from Forever 21, 4 tank tops from old navy (all longish lace tees in white, 2x black, and purple). two eyeliners (one in glam rock green and one in blue rock), 3 pairs of knickers from Torrid (one has a squirrel on it hehe), angel wing ring, open gray cardigan from Forever 21, and a black old navy cardigan. So safe to say, I went a little crazy. I really need some work clothes and some tank tops I didn't despise, but I went a little over that... obviously.
In other news, work has been good. I'm still trying to adjust to the schedule though, I'm dog tired today, need a nap! My boyfriend bought us 'Blood Drive' for our XBOX which he is a lot better at than I am.
Saw 'Sucker Punch' over the weekend - it was okay.
Discovered that there is a Pinkberry in Fairfax, must try, must try!
Ben and Jerry's 'Late Night Snack', although odd sounding, is quite tasty. (Have yet to try Clusterfluff, I will keep you posted)
Almost peed my pants laughing while fooling around with a Ken doll in Walmart, had him longingly yell my boyfriends name and make long awaited admissions. I almost considered buying it, it was so fun to play with. But knowing me, I would have bought it, put it in absurd duct tape outfits and ended up breaking its little voice box thingie making it scream inappropriate statements. That or my boyfriend would have ended up taking it away because of my bad behavior ^-^
I have been craving mashed potatoes like it's nobodies business, which it is not, keep it to yourself! I'm kidding, put it on a billboard, perhaps I'll get free mashed potatoes! Do it! Oh and I dragged my boyfriend to 'Cracker Barrell', he seemed pleasantly surprised to find out it wasn't as bad as he thought it would be. We got a lot of strange looks though, especially when I walked to the wrong door twice before finding the bathroom.
I've been having a lot of fun, hope it stays fun. Hope everyone is well. Still need to get around to that outfit of the day thing, need to take pictures! I will get around to it eventually.
Oh before I forget, booties! The booties I mentioned in the previous post. I haven't worn them yet but my right knee has been acting up and I don't want to push it at all.

My version of an 80's classic that I don't even know the title of.
I have exciting news, I got the job I mentioned in a previous post! I start Monday, I'm excited and nervous all at the same time, I hope I catch on quick. It will be so nice to have my own income again.
My booties arrived, they are really cute, I wore them around the upstairs living room and got some gunk on the bottom already! I scrubbed it twice today and it still won't come off - this is not your everyday ordinary gunk, perhaps it is gunk from another planet! I will take pictures soon (not of the gunk), I promise. Wait, I try not to promise things, I... am almost certain I will not share pictures.
Yesterday whilst wearing my booties around the living room, I had another long conversation with my roomie, Dawn. It was light out when we decided it was finally time for us to hang up our larynx's for the night. That last part sounds gross.
Just saw this trailer today, looking forward to this one.
I don't typically listen to music like Adele, but I cannot stop playing this song. She has an absolutely amazing voice, her talent is undeniable.
Mother nature is a bitch huh? This Earthquake/Tsunami stuff, I can't even really imagine it personally. Hope, hopey, hope-age for the best for everyone and anyone involved or affected.
Ha, I got my fiance tapping to my 'Chipmunk started the fire' remake. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

I had such a good weekend, it was very macaroni - which I learned this weekend means "cool", "the shit", "awesome sauce", or at least it did during the time of Yankee Doodle Dandy? Anyway I thought I'd share that special information with you.
On Friday, I had a job interview for an Office Assistant position which is literally 3 minutes away from where we live currently, the interview seemed to go really well and I had a very natural rapport with the women of the office. After the interview, I stood around for a bit and we all chatted, the one woman who worked there told me "I'm really glad I was working today (she is a retiree that had been with the company for 20+ years and only comes in occasionally) and got to meet you!."
They said they would make their decision on Monday BUT on Monday I got a call from the office manager who told me that they really like me but they still want to finish up interviews during this week and come up with a decision the following Monday so we shall see. I think it is good news that they called me on Monday to give me a heads up and ask me to please notify them of any changes of my own but also bad news because they didn't want to quite commit on offering me the job without interviewing some more people. Honestly, I have been on so many interviews and had so much up and down that I don't let it get to me too much anymore, for a time I would take any rejection really hard so now I try to not let it effect me too much. I did my best and hopefully they will choose me but if not, I'll keep looking.
After the interview I decided to wonder around Homegoods and found some really cute china bowls, a black striped oven mitten, blackberry jam, and an issue of Food Network magazine with a full Italian food edition. I can't wait to try out the recipes! I honestly love to cook, I just don't like doing it much here. I'm busting at the seems with excitement over the house stuff coming together (slowly). I cannot wait to be in our own place. We have made slight progress on the house front but it is moving at a snail's pace- bah, go faster!
| sorry, such a craptastic picture. |
On Sunday, Jason and I visited our friend Row and her awesome teen-aged children, Megan and Cody. I love them so much, they're like a second family. We went to dinner at a local Mexican food restaurant and got a little hyper. Plenty of jokes told by all, I knocked over a chair at one point while telling a story. It was good times, I'm not sure if the staff felt the same way because we were being super boisterous. Afterward we joked around in the car a bit where I hit my head and Cody did amusing voices, oh and I pretended to make biting gestures at Row. Then we went to Walmart and goofed off there as well, had to give Cody a hard time because some girls he goes to school with were outside selling girl scout cookies and they really wanted him to buy their cookies, of course we (mainly me) had to give him a hard time about that. Tried to get my boyfriend to buy tiny man panties and I made boob impressions on the iced over freezer doors. I'm a little nuts, what can I say?
Then we went back to their place and watched 'Megamind' which was hysterical, if you have not seen it, it comes highly recommended. The pictures above (and at the top) are my effort, again to show how pretty the view is on the way to Frederick but it was raining all day.

While on a search for the Lush store (found out it closed in January *sad face*) I wondered into Anthropologie to look at the housewares. I love Anthropologie but really cannot afford it, I assume I'm too big for their clothes, I think I tried on a dress years ago but put it back. Mistake! Anyway I always drool over there excessively girly housewares and somehow convinced my fiance to buy me two orange (My fiance hates the color orange) bowls. It was a bowl buyin' sorta weekend, apparently.
I would absolutely love to fill my kitchen with mismatched bowls, plates, and teacups of all different sizes and colors. That is my fantasy! My fiance doesn't understand it, I don't think it is a typical guy worry - "I must, just must, have nice dishes Stan."
After Anthropologie we met Darrell, Alexia, and Nando in Tyson's and then went to McDonald's. Decided we should start a country and call it Funkland but then Nando got kicked out of the country and kicked off the trade route and now apparently will be off on his own in Nandistan. Then saw 'Rango' which was good fun.
On Tuesday, my fiance and I took his father to dinner for his birthday. Went to Uncle Julio's which was very crowded and the food was extremely disappointing. I wasn't a fan but it was really nice to get his Dad out of the house and hear his raccoon stories. Raccoon stories? W-tee-F you say, well his Dad likes to feed local raccoons.
Ooh I ordered these studded black booties that I'm super excited about, I will share pictures once they arrive. As my usual sign off...

Ello', another weekend has come and gone. I personally (I think this sentiment is shared by many) live for the weekends. Especially with being unemployed, my week days are usually spent doing chores and looking for jobs, which are not exactly fun.
Saturday night my fiance and I went to a local restaurant and after we did some light packing and drove up to my Moms.
On Sunday, my fiance and I went to Ellicott City in search for this restaurant that he was raving about that has really good Chinese food. The food was amazing, good Chinese food is so hard to come by and I was not at all disappointed. After eating we decided to walk up to gates of The Enchanted Forest which has been abandoned since 1995. I went to it once as a kid but I don't really remember it, it was basically an amusement park for small children with fairy tale and story book settings. Now that it is abandoned it just seems like the perfect back drop for a horror film or photo shoot. Well we approached the gates to take a peek in and noticed that the lock was missing from the gate. I was wearing flip flops, not exactly the best thing to be wearing whileexploring trespassing, but as my fiance had his back turned I decided to scurry in. I just thought what the hell, I've always wanted to go in and now I had my chance. From what I've read restoration and preservation societies have taken a lot of the buildings and figures off the original site so there wasn't much left. The last time I had peeked (didn't go in) there seemed to be a lot more figures and buildings still there.
It was funexploring trespassing, we did no damage, just walked about and took some pictures. My fiance walked in the castle area, took one picture, then walked out and said "It sounded creepy in there." Afterward went to a pet store to get stuff for our babies and then headed home to sleep.
On Monday, my fiance and I headed back to Ellicott City to an italian restaurant called Stella Notte. Looked for a giant squirrel statue he said was in someones front yard but we did not see it, I was really hoping to see a giant squirrel statue, perhaps it was never really there...
I honestly cannot remember what else we did on Monday, oh except I went with my mom to take my 14 year old sister to school, I couldn't resist embarrassing her as we dropped her off in front of school. I dangled out the car yelling "HAVE A GOOD DAY" at her and her friend. My mom got a real kick out of it, I was almost completely dangling out of a moving vehicle, ah what a girl will do to embarrass her little sisters. Monday night we drove back home.
Tuesday we went to Guapo's and did a little shopping at World Market. I got a bottle of Moscato wine, a black birdcage candle holder, and a matroyshka measuring set.
I bonded with Rex, the all white blue eyed angora that my family recently adopted. He kept wanting to sleep in my lap and meowing for my attention, it was really sweet. I forgot to take a picture of him. The kitten, Piglet, went to the vet to get neutered on Monday - and I hear it went well.
I keep meaning to do an OOTD post but I keep forgetting, I will get to it eventually. The weather has been so up and down lately. I like the warmer weather of course but I wish it would just kind of stay consistent.
I have really good news, my fiance and I are another step closer to being in our own place. After some finance stuff is taken care of, we will be on our way. I'm so excited! I cannot wait!
As my usual sign off I will post pictures of my babies.

Old Navy Heaven - 2/25 by honeysuck_elle featuring an old navy cardigan
So yes, I quite enjoyed myself at Old Navy today. They had a lot of really cute Spring colors and patterns. One of my favorite and unexpected choices was the hot pink dress, I typically don't like the frayed look but I just love the pattern and it is quite flattering on. I'm debating whether to go back for the gray cardigan, it was super comfy and hung well on my body. They had it in black as well - decisions. I don't think you can ever have enough cardigans. I had been searching for the perfect blue and white striped shirt, I didn't actually choose the one I put in the collage but I couldn't find the one I bought. The one I bought is 3/4 length and I love the way it hangs. The white eyelet is gorgeous, I've had a white eyelet skirt before that I loved (received many compliments over) but it doesn't fit quite as well as it use to. I really liked this one but it was a bit snug around my hips. The floral print shirt, which they also have in polka dot prints, was pretty cute but my boobs were not having it. It didn't look too bad on but it was a little long and kept trying to bunch around the bewbies. I was reluctant to try on the black eyelet dress but it was quite adorable on, a little revealing though. I had a hard time choosing between the dresses but I figured I should go with the more unique one. Lastly but not least, the coral rose colored tank top, these are some of my favorite tank tops at Old Navy and the color is so lovely. This is such a long explanation, just head your butt over to Old Navy, they have some awesome deals and things right now.
Besides that, the dvds I found were: Anger Management, E.T, Failure to Launch, and The Ring. I was a bit embarrassed to buy The Ring but I really enjoyed the movie when it first came out and it was only $1.95. The cds I bought were Empire Records Soundtrack, Gladiator Soundtrack, and one more that I'm too embarrassed to mention so it shall remain forever a secret. Oh and I found a Laurie Notaro book, I just love her, she is so relate-able and absolutely hysterical.
| New! The Alice in Wonderland snow globe is an early Birthday present from my friend Summer. |
I feel like a kid who had too much sugar and ran around the room and then passed out with a crayon dangling vicariously from nostril. Or for a more visual demonstration, I provide you with Gir from Invader Zim.
I'm beat after very little sleep, elevated blood pressure from pure frustration and anger over the last few days, and a lot of cardio from today(uhm, shopping). It was also windy as all hell today, very Auntie Em-esque wind, it almost knocked my hefty ass down a few times so nature gave her own workout. I'm so glad I decided to wear pants or someone woulda seen my draws'.
Anywho, I had been struggling in agony to receive payment for the personal assistant fiasco, after text messages and emails were leaving me with empty promises or nothing (I really hate talking on the phone, it is especially hard for me to do) I decided it had been long enough (two weeks of bs) so I called her up and she said to come over. I get there and pick up payment without even looking at the check, which I opened as I zoomed away, and noticed it was $95.00 short *takes a big gulp of wine* Yes, a full $95.00 I worked for, gone for no apparent or given reason. So now what do I do? Bother her for another two weeks for the money she swindled me out of? I'd like to say yes but I'm just so sick of it all I just want to give up and take another big ol' gulp of my wine. $95.00 is a decent chunk of money. But anywho (yes, again, I like that word...) that is why I was so angry all week. I was quite a gem for a few special moments, mainly it was to myself and a little to my poor boyfriend. I got really snarky about Taco Bell at one point, I was just mad at the world including thy self.
The weekend wasn't too bad, I find it funny that it took me until this weekend to comment on the last weekend. I went out to a club (an old haunt) with my friend Summer. We goofed off, almost got knocked down from this epic wind, drank a little, danced a little, and got hit on a little (of course I forgot my fake me out engagement ring, I went to point at it and realized I was pulling a blank, pale finger). The hit on crew ogled my ass almost the entire night and it was really annoying, I'll be honest, my ass is not my best attribute so I am always shocked when it gets ogled.
My little sister was sick when I visited my mom briefly, she rarely gets sick and she was violently ill - I felt really bad for her. Luckily she is feeling completely better now. I felt sick the rest of the night after seeing her violent display of illness. I also got to meet the new kitties, the kitten is so tiny, and the white cat has the loveliest blue eyes. They both have some vet appointments for the ol' goodbye ball, and other alignments they picked up from living on (basically) a cat farm. I hope they get better.
Besides that the boyfriend and I had a lazy weekend, we played a lot of scrabble! I seriously love scrabble, it is one of the only things in my entire life I get competitive about - and I'm generally pretty good at it. Not to suggest I'm the Bobby Fisher of scrabble but I can hold my own. I beat the boyfriend 3 out of 4 times. We also watched some 'Spartacus: Gods of the Arena', 'Invader Zim', and some really awesome shows about artifacts and mummy identification in Egypt. I really want some canopic jars, sans organs of course. My boyfriend kept making fun of me because I kept calling them "canopie" jars.
The boyfriend and I had Pho last weekend, my boyfriend did not enjoy it but he is a very picky eater - my only real complaint was that my stomach felt at unrest for days afterward. I can be sensitivo to some cooking oils or too much oil. I don't know, that is my theory.
Last weekend the boyfriend and I also did a little shopping! I got a red exercise ball that I love bouncing on, it is a shame our carpets in the basement we rent are so ick nasty because I won't lay on it to do some of the exercises they suggest. I use my shake weight and bounce on the ball at the same time and it is a lot of fun. I also got a black cardigan, black and white polka dot pajama shorts, and 'Heathers' the 20th High School Reunion edition - which come to find out is exactly like the other copy I own. Oh well, anyone want a copy of 'Heathers'? Chaos is what killed the dinosaurs, darling!

The week has been rather uneventful, more stressful than anything else. I've been getting by though.
Today I did a little shopping, my original plan was to just go to AC Moore to find these really amazing little fragrance pouch things because our basement has had the faint smell of old lady lately. My roommate had bought one and had it in the kitchen and every time I walked by I said "god that smells good, I really need some of those." They were a bargain too, only $.99 each! I got four but I wish I had just taken their entire visible inventory, they smell like a hybrid of a strawberry smoothie, a fruit flavored lollipop, and sweet candy at the same time without being overpowering or dying down too fast. That may not be the best description but the scent is labeled pomegranate and doesn't smell too artificial. They come highly suggested and for $.99 who can beat that. Smells better than a lot of the air fresheners I come across, personally.
Well after A.C Moore, I decided to go to this used bookstore that also sells dvds, cds, records, and tapes. I was in there for awhile. I love buying dvds, it is a dirty little habit of mine. I think I have upwards of 400 now. I love looking at books too but the store is set up in such a confusing manner I usually give up after one or two authors. I ended up with three cds, 4 dvds, and one book. Not bad for under $25.00!
Then, at the suggestion of other blogs I've read, I went into a thrift store to see what they had to offer. I have to say I was completely disappointed, very little selection and very ugly stuff at that - I know it's about searching for the diamond in the rough but it didn't seem to yield any diamond. I did see a creepy puppet and 80's wedding dress though.
Then I decided to go to Old Navy. Damn you Old Navy, damn you. I use to be so loyal to Old Navy, they rarely let me down and I always seemed to leave with something but for awhile there I had no interest in anything they were selling, but they seem to have come around this Spring season. I found a ton of things I liked and actually tried on many a item (I hate trying on clothes). I generally have the fit issue of my boobs and hips.
I ended up with a pink dress, coral rose colored tank top, and a white and blue striped shirt. Love my finds. I'll post pictures later, I'm really exhausted. I'm sorry I can never shut my big mouth! Have a good weekend!

Let her Loose by honeysuck_elle featuring mesh skirts
So I'm considering what to wear for this weekend (that is if I can even go out this weekend, money is the issue). I have some old dresses and stuff but I'm so sick of it all. I want a new cute going out outfit but I don't really want to spend too much money. I love lace, sparkles, tulle skirts, obviously lots of black, cute vibrant colored bras to be peeking out a bit, and fishnet tights.
I will probably end up wearing one of my old things but I can't figure out what to wear. Grr. I don't want to look cute and be too uncomfortable either. Cute, comfy, and able to move around freely is the plan. Decisions, decisions.
