The weather is flipper beautiful today, I want to just roll around in the grass like a fluffy Pomeranian - but then it makes my skin all itchy and the neighbors start drug and/or insanity rumors (although I would not be surprised if the latter has already been surmised). I apologize, yet again, for that incident with the mayonnaise (I'm joking, anyone watch 'Archer'? Damn funny show).

I apologize, for realies, for my delay in posting - I almost typed 'postage' just then, been spending a little bit of time being a Pam Beesly.  I doubt anyone has seriously wondered but I figured I'd send out apologies in case anyone (uh...) missed me so, so much.

So to update about my knee, it is somewhat better, my mobility has certainly improved. The weekend after my last posting was not so awesome in regards to my articulatio genus, I ended up having to skip my wine tasting plans because I could barely move. The next day I woke up feeling a little better but made the mistake of over-straining myself and ended up in tears from the pain. It was nice to see Laurie, Jason, Troy, and Lisa. After the hike (I barely attended) we all watched a really bizarre movie, best summary I can give you is )) <> ((  which will make absolutely no sense if you haven't seen the movie but there is an ass referenced there - twice. My monkey and I stopped by a thai place where I was continuously distracted by BIGFISH (say it as one word dammit!).

Why are you posting pictures of large fish? You ask. Well, because I can. Rawr.

I ordered some really cute shirts. I have yet to wear the vintage 'Little Red Riding Hood' one but I will take pictures when I do. The other shirt I just love, even with full consideration of the dirty looks I received at the nail salon whilst wearing said shirt. I got a manicure and pedicure last weekend for the first time in a looong time and ugh - it was wondrous.

Zombie shirt for the win! I just love it. I would wear it to work if I could get away with it.

I went to the doctor that following Monday, who said I probably have a pinched nerve in my back (I live with constant back pain, I can't even imagine a minute that would go by without back pain, it is the suck) and tendonitis of the knee. She was really nice but I was a bit frustrated not to get any real solutions offered to me or at the very least some strong sedatives! No one will give me a prescription for strong pain killers, WHY? WHY??!

Is that all the new items I've gotten over the last er, three weeks, no. Definitely not.

Manicure with 'Midnight in Moscow' nail polish by OPI. You can't really tell but it is a brownish red color and I love it. I almost (went in, held it in my hand, sprayed my hair with Pink Sugar spritzer but decided $8.50 was a bit much for nail polish) went to Ulta and bought it. In the background is my new purse I found in a clearance bin from Kohls that I've gotten at least 3 compliments on. AND my four new rings, also from Kohls, the one to the far right has a purple stone in and the middle (fuckyou, well not YOU kittens :) finger has a black stone.

I got a blue maxi dress I've worn several times from Target that I didn't take a picture of but you can see the color in the background behind my pasty ass Hulk arm and pretty new bracelet also from Kohls. I tried on this green and navy dress that was quite cute but I put it back - it wasn't cheap enough for me. You can spot my boyfriends arm on my leg by the way - awwies.

My boyfriend and I have been to the movies a few times over the last few weeks, we've seen 'Water for Elephants' which I really enjoyed. The Waltz was amazing, what a fab actor. 'Source Code' which was mediocre. And I think there was a third... maybe I'm wrong. I guess not, my ticket stub collecting does not lie.

Very empty Fairfax Corner
Easter was a half day of work, which was awesome, although I think I just napped.

My birthday was April 29th, I turned 26. Yes, I'm not pleased about getting older, I mean there is no getting around it but I still don't have to be a fan of it.

I had been talking to my boyfriend for months about what we should do for my birthday and around mid-April he started alluding to the fact that he had made surprise Birthday plans for me. "Don't buy that, maybe you'll get it later" or "Maybe we shouldn't go to this restaurant since we might be going later in the month", or (my personal fave) "You should catch up on your stretches my sex kitten." Okay the last one was not said, well not in those words, hehehehe FILTHY (ode to Darrell).

My birthday was heavenly, a minor set back with my Mom putting on her drama hat and un-mothering me on facebook over some stupid plans I have to pretend to enjoy going to every fucking (fucking, what? It's Say Fuck Thursday) year.

At work they gave me cupcakes, a Happy Birthday memo on my desk, and a nice card signed by the entire office (all 4 of them).

Friday night (29th) went to Maggianos with Darrell, Alexia, Amber, and Amber's boyfriend Carlos. Amber and her boyfriend were running a bit late so D & Z and I got ridiculously hyper and had filthy, FILTHY, conversations. By the time Amber (my boyfriends sister) arrived she leaned over and asked Jason "How much has she had to drink?" and I replied in a fit of laughter (and very flushed in the face) "NONE, hehehehehetee." We were the second to last people to leave. Alexia (Z) and I made aluminum foil tiaras and danced by the bar. For my birthday I got a dragon necklace, 'Nailbomb' cd, 'Shiny Toy Guns' cd, 'The Pianist' on novel (word play), Ten Little Zombies, The Perfect Insult, and Cat are Weird on bookage from D and Z, Beetlejuice action figure, and that talking Ken doll. Yes, I got a friggin talking Ken doll for my *cough* 26th *cough* birthday, yes I've chased my cats with it. It entertains me, he remains naked, thanks for asking.

Oh, oh my boyfriend got me epic cakes from Costco and also, joined Costco! Double win, well triple win since his silly ass bought two cakes. I love him <3 He is the best, honestly, I'm rarely sentimental but he is. I had such a good birthday all things considered. Amber and Carlos were so nice to travel all the way to see little (who you kiddin') birthday girl me, and D and Z were fun as fuck (It is still Say Fuck Thursday) as always.

Saturday was a complete surprise, we stopped by Rows. I wore my ASOS dress (new) that I LOVE and received many compliments over. At around 5:33PM everyone was urging my boyfriend to get a move on and we headed out. We ended up at a cabin in Thurmont (about 10-15 miles outside Frederick) that I LOVED. I was pleasantly surprised! He picked the best cabin too, the furthest off with nice views and a lovely screened in porch. We had sexy times and leftovers from Maggianos, I loved it! I didn't want to leave, I want to go back! Look at all those exclamation points, wow.

Cabin living room area. It had A/C and electric obviously.

View from the screened in porch off the cabin. We sat in the rocking chairs and listened to the rain, it was so relaxing.
My boyfriend was afraid I would not like it because it was a bit rustic and I'm not much of an outdoorsy gal but I really enjoyed my time there. It felt so relaxing and calm. It was a nice change from my everyday feeling. I generally don't feel very calm (or clam. damn fingers, stop), obviously. Sunday was spent relaxing, doing a little walking, doing a little getting lost, and doing a little crying over not wanting to leave the woods.

Instead of my usual sign off, because I've already said way too much. I leave you with pictures we took of a lake in Cunningham Falls.

Thank the holy hot skillet tomorrow is Friday.
Watch Archer, it is hysterical.
Don Pablo's chicken fajitas are tasty (went there Tuesday).

Last thoughts, signing off.

Has it really been two full weeks since I last posted? It doesn't feel like it. I've been working a lot and been struggling with consistent knee pain, I hurt my knee a few years ago and it has not been the same since. It has been absolutely horrendous for the last few weeks. Today especially I've been limping around all day, it feels like there is fluid all around my knee cap and it limits my mobility. I really hope it goes away soon, regular pain reliever is not helping at all. My benefits don't kick in till mid June and I don't want to pay out of pocket to go to a Doctor - I may have to but I don't want to. It's been making me feel very lethargic and irritable :(

Anyway, enough complaining, there has been some shopping to report so I have to share. I'm very into stripes lately, I got a striped shirt and a striped tunic I wore with leggings as a dress the one day. I have pictures, still no outfits of the day, I sowwie! I'm a dirty promise breaker, will I haven't really put a deadline on the promise it just has not happened...  yet. Onto the show:

Got this cute owl ring for something like $8. The skeleton pajama pants in the background I got as well, they are a bit ridiculous but made of very comfortable material and were only $1.99.
One of the striped shirts I mentioned, I've worn about 4 times already, it is so comfy. New owl necklace. I like its little orange candy like eyes.

Dessert from Bertucci's two weekends ago. My boyfriend got the chocolate mousse in the back and I got the chocolate hazelnut crostata- go get one! Good enough to chop a limb off for (maybe not, but dayum good. Dayumm good? YES. DAMN good).

At the top are some other new things, the perfume is Pink Sugar by Aquolina, which is well known and rightly so because my goats does it smell good! I absolutely love it. I love how I can smell it on me all day. It was a present from my Mom for my upcoming birthday. The Bath and Body Works goodies are absolutely to die for hand soaps in fresh picked cherry and fresh picked strawberry, they smell heavenly. I found a leather jacket from Target for $39.99, well its fake leather, I haven't even checked the label to see what the material it is - it's just cute. I'm happy to report that I tried on the 3x and it was way too big (you can never quite tell with jackets), the 2x fit but was a bit big (ended up buying the 2x but not sure if I should have), and when I showed my boyfriend he said "shoulda bought the 14/16, it looks too big". I also bought from "Tarjay" some black linen pants which are so damn comfortable (also had to go down a size, woohoo), and a gray cardigan.

So the Pinkberry I was telling you about - I went - I was taken back by the flavor of the original for about um 2 seconds and then nom, nom, nom set in. I've been twice already, seriously considering going today but it's a Friday and everyone and their cousin will be in that vicinity. Bah, crowds. The boyfriend was not a fan of Pinkberry, he turned his nose up after taking a sample.

Original flavor with raspberries, almonds, and chocolate crisps.
Last weekend I had a girls day with my best friend Row and her daughter, Megan which turned into the boyfriend coming along too but he was so out of it that day it was still basically a girls day. We had Mexican food, I yelled inappropriate things in the restaurant, we walked about the mall and I coveted Smurf shirts and a panda hat, and then we hung out in a park in Frederick on a lovely day. It twas a good time.

I'm a bit boring this entry, I've been distracted as I said by zi pain ("zi plane?" no, zi pain), work, and work annoyances. This weekend should be good (hopey pope hope it's good), I'm going to a wine tasting with my friend, Summer tomorrow. Then on Sunday we are going exploring with our friends Laurie, Jason, Lisa, Troy, and of course my Monkey.

Thai iced tea
Basil wrap. One of my favorite meals ever. Had this on Tuesday or was it Monday.
So I wish merry weekend times. I leave you with my usual sign off.

Looty Booty, I'm a doofus, sharing some of my recent purchases. I didn't buy the necklaces in the picture just the black dress. The pants I bought to wear to work and I'm very happy with them. The one pair (second down) I've been wearing to the work the last few days and I'm happy to report I think I actually could have gone down a size. Shopping while you're bloated is not recommended. I also got a black and white polka dot see through top that I quite like, wore it on Monday - I do have to say though the sleeves are a bit weird. That isn't all I bought...

I like to buy DVD's, I don't know if I have previously mentioned that but I do. Some of the stuff I buy is a bit dorky but oh well, that is I, a bit dorky.

I also bought a pair of sparkly denim skinny jeans from Forever 21, simple black leggings from Forever 21, black cardigan with heart pattern from Forever 21, 4 tank tops from old navy (all longish lace tees in white, 2x black, and purple). two eyeliners (one in glam rock green and one in blue rock), 3 pairs of knickers from Torrid (one has a squirrel on it hehe), angel wing ring, open gray cardigan from Forever 21, and a black old navy cardigan. So safe to say, I went a little crazy. I really need some work clothes and some tank tops I didn't despise, but I went a little over that... obviously.

In other news, work has been good. I'm still trying to adjust to the schedule though, I'm dog tired today, need a nap! My boyfriend bought us 'Blood Drive' for our XBOX which he is a lot better at than I am.

Saw 'Sucker Punch' over the weekend - it was okay.
Discovered that there is a Pinkberry in Fairfax, must try, must try!
Ben and Jerry's 'Late Night Snack', although odd sounding, is quite tasty. (Have yet to try Clusterfluff, I will keep you posted)

Almost peed my pants laughing while fooling around with a Ken doll in Walmart, had him longingly yell my boyfriends name and make long awaited admissions. I almost considered buying it, it was so fun to play with. But knowing me, I would have bought it, put it in absurd duct tape outfits and ended up breaking its little voice box thingie making it scream inappropriate statements. That or my boyfriend would have ended up taking it away because of my bad behavior ^-^

I have been craving mashed potatoes like it's nobodies business, which it is not, keep it to yourself! I'm kidding, put it on a billboard, perhaps I'll get free mashed potatoes! Do it! Oh and I dragged my boyfriend to 'Cracker Barrell', he seemed pleasantly surprised to find out it wasn't as bad as he thought it would be. We got a lot of strange looks though, especially when I walked to the wrong door twice before finding the bathroom.

I've been having a lot of fun, hope it stays fun. Hope everyone is well. Still need to get around to that outfit of the day thing, need to take pictures! I will get around to it eventually.

Cheesecake Factory, sooo much food.
Cracker Barrell. I spot a biscuit.

Oh before I forget, booties! The booties I mentioned in the previous post. I haven't worn them yet but my right knee has been acting up and I don't want to push it at all.

My version of an 80's classic that I don't even know the title of.

I have exciting news, I got the job I mentioned in a previous post! I start Monday, I'm excited and nervous all at the same time, I hope I catch on quick. It will be so nice to have my own income again.

My booties arrived, they are really cute, I wore them around the upstairs living room and got some gunk on the bottom already! I scrubbed it twice today and it still won't come off - this is not your everyday ordinary gunk, perhaps it is gunk from another planet! I will take pictures soon (not of the gunk), I promise. Wait, I try not to promise things, I... am almost certain I will not share pictures.

Yesterday whilst wearing my booties around the living room, I had another long conversation with my roomie, Dawn. It was light out when we decided it was finally time for us to hang up our larynx's for the night. That last part sounds gross.

Just saw this trailer today, looking forward to this one.

I don't typically listen to music like Adele, but I cannot stop playing this song. She has an absolutely amazing voice, her talent is undeniable.

Mother nature is a bitch huh? This Earthquake/Tsunami stuff, I can't even really imagine it personally. Hope, hopey, hope-age for the best for everyone and anyone involved or affected.

Ha, I got my fiance tapping to my 'Chipmunk started the fire' remake. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Thursday, March 10, 2011

I had such a good weekend, it was very macaroni - which I learned this weekend means "cool", "the shit", "awesome sauce", or at least it did during the time of Yankee Doodle Dandy? Anyway I thought I'd share that special information with you.

On Friday, I had a job interview for an Office Assistant position which is literally 3 minutes away from where we live currently, the interview seemed to go really well and I had a very natural rapport with the women of the office. After the interview, I stood around for a bit and we all chatted, the one woman who worked there told me "I'm really glad I was working today (she is a retiree that had been with the company for 20+ years and only comes in occasionally) and got to meet you!."

They said they would make their decision on Monday BUT on Monday I got a call from the office manager who told me that they really like me but they still want to finish up interviews during this week and come up with a decision the following Monday so we shall see. I think it is good news that they called me on Monday to give me a heads up and ask me to please notify them of any changes of my own but also bad news because they didn't want to quite commit on offering me the job without interviewing some more people. Honestly, I have been on so many interviews and had so much up and down that I don't let it get to me too much anymore, for a time I would take any rejection really hard so now I try to not let it effect me too much. I did my best and hopefully they will choose me but if not, I'll keep looking.

After the interview I decided to wonder around Homegoods and found some really cute china bowls, a black striped oven mitten, blackberry jam, and an issue of Food Network magazine with a full Italian food edition. I can't wait to try out the recipes! I honestly love to cook, I just don't like doing it much here. I'm busting at the seems with excitement over the house stuff coming together (slowly). I cannot wait to be in our own place. We have made slight progress on the house front but it is moving at a snail's pace- bah, go faster!

sorry, such a craptastic picture.
On Saturday, I laid low, hung around the house and ended up talking to my roommate Dawn, for hours. I mean, HOURS, we shared a bottle of absolutely amazing moscato wine I found from World Market and talked a total of er.. 14.5 hours. She is a cool chick and it is really nice to have a roommate to talk to. Obviously, I like my talking time, that has been the case since I've had the ability to talk. I was always the kid put in the corner in Kindergarten - I would just talk to people from the corner.

On Sunday, Jason and I visited our friend Row and her awesome teen-aged children, Megan and Cody. I love them so much, they're like a second family. We went to dinner at a local Mexican food restaurant and got a little hyper. Plenty of jokes told by all, I knocked over a chair at one point while telling a story. It was good times, I'm not sure if the staff felt the same way because we were being super boisterous. Afterward we joked around in the car a bit where I hit my head and Cody did amusing voices, oh and I pretended to make biting gestures at Row. Then we went to Walmart and goofed off there as well, had to give Cody a hard time because some girls he goes to school with were outside selling girl scout cookies and they really wanted him to buy their cookies, of course we (mainly me) had to give him a hard time about that. Tried to get my boyfriend to buy tiny man panties and I made boob impressions on the iced over freezer doors. I'm a little nuts, what can I say?

Then we went back to their place and watched 'Megamind' which was hysterical, if you have not seen it, it comes highly recommended. The pictures above (and at the top) are my effort, again to show how pretty the view is on the way to Frederick but it was raining all day.

Maggiano's Creme Burlee: The Sequel, Delicious strikes again.
On Monday, my fiance and I went to Maggiano's and ate entirely too much but the food was delicious as always. They give you so much food, I ordered the braised beef cannelloni and it was basically half a cow with a thin layer of pasta. Nomnom. I was goofing off there as well, I can't even remember half of the stuff I joke about, I just remember excessive laughter. I think I was doing impressions of my Dad, who is a trip.

While on a search for the Lush store (found out it closed in January *sad face*) I wondered into Anthropologie to look at the housewares. I love Anthropologie but really cannot afford it, I assume I'm too big for their clothes, I think I tried on a dress years ago but put it back. Mistake! Anyway I always drool over there excessively girly housewares and somehow convinced my fiance to buy me two orange (My fiance hates the color orange) bowls. It was a bowl buyin' sorta weekend, apparently.

I would absolutely love to fill my kitchen with mismatched bowls, plates, and teacups of all different sizes and colors. That is my fantasy! My fiance doesn't understand it, I don't think it is a typical guy worry - "I must, just must, have nice dishes Stan."

After Anthropologie we met Darrell, Alexia, and Nando in Tyson's and then went to McDonald's. Decided we should start a country and call it Funkland but then Nando got kicked out of the country and kicked off the trade route and now apparently will be off on his own in Nandistan. Then saw 'Rango' which was good fun.

On Tuesday, my fiance and I took his father to dinner for his birthday. Went to Uncle Julio's which was very crowded and the food was extremely disappointing. I wasn't a fan but it was really nice to get his Dad out of the house and hear his raccoon stories. Raccoon stories? W-tee-F you say, well his Dad likes to feed local raccoons.

Ooh I ordered these studded black booties that I'm super excited about, I will share pictures once they arrive. As my usual sign off...

Iz at your compoter, looking up ways to defeat the Raccoon!

Ello', another weekend has come and gone. I personally (I think this sentiment is shared by many) live for the weekends. Especially with being unemployed, my week days are usually spent doing chores and looking for jobs, which are not exactly fun.

China Legend, Jade Chicken at top and Chicken with Broccoli
Saturday night my fiance and I went to a local restaurant and after we did some light packing and drove up to my Moms.

On Sunday, my fiance and I went to Ellicott City in search for this restaurant that he was raving about that has really good Chinese food. The food was amazing, good Chinese food is so hard to come by and I was not at all disappointed. After eating we decided to walk up to gates of The Enchanted Forest which has been abandoned since 1995. I went to it once as a kid but I don't really remember it, it was basically an amusement park for small children with fairy tale and story book settings. Now that it is abandoned it just seems like the perfect back drop for a horror film or photo shoot. Well we approached the gates to take a peek in and noticed that the lock was missing from the gate. I was wearing flip flops, not exactly the best thing to be wearing while exploring trespassing, but as my fiance had his back turned I decided to scurry in. I just thought what the hell, I've always wanted to go in and now I had my chance. From what I've read restoration and preservation societies have taken a lot of the buildings and figures off the original site so there wasn't much left. The last time I had peeked (didn't go in) there seemed to be a lot more figures and buildings still there.

I believe this was the Cinderella castle.
Front Gate

It was fun exploring trespassing, we did no damage, just walked about and took some pictures. My fiance walked in the castle area, took one picture, then walked out and said "It sounded creepy in there." Afterward went to a pet store to get stuff for our babies and then headed home to sleep.

On Monday, my fiance and I headed back to Ellicott City to an italian restaurant called Stella Notte. Looked for a giant squirrel statue he said was in someones front yard but we did not see it, I was really hoping to see a giant squirrel statue, perhaps it was never really there...

I honestly cannot remember what else we did on Monday, oh except I went with my mom to take my 14 year old sister to school, I couldn't resist embarrassing her as we dropped her off in front of school. I dangled out the car yelling "HAVE A GOOD DAY" at her and her friend. My mom got a real kick out of it, I was almost completely dangling out of a moving vehicle, ah what a girl will do to embarrass her little sisters. Monday night we drove back home.

Tuesday we went to Guapo's and did a little shopping at World Market. I got a bottle of Moscato wine, a black birdcage candle holder, and a matroyshka measuring set.

I bonded with Rex, the all white blue eyed angora that my family recently adopted.  He kept wanting to sleep in my lap and meowing for my attention, it was really sweet. I forgot to take a picture of him. The kitten, Piglet, went to the vet to get neutered on Monday - and I hear it went well.

I keep meaning to do an OOTD post but I keep forgetting, I will get to it eventually. The weather has been so up and down lately. I like the warmer weather of course but I wish it would just kind of stay consistent.

I have really good news, my fiance and I are another step closer to being in our own place. After some finance stuff is taken care of, we will be on our way. I'm so excited! I cannot wait!

As my usual sign off I will post pictures of my babies.

Ginger, the family cat.
Hero and Halo looking like cyborgs.
