I've been toying with doing a movie inspiration post for this movie for the longest time because it is one of my favorite movies of all time (yes, I have many but still, this is a contender). The only thing is the movie I'm referring to, Heathers, was done in the 1980s (specifically 1988) so the hair is big, the shoulder pads are popping, and the scrunchies are ...scrunchy. I don't really care for big hair or shoulder pads, that sort of 1980's look I don't fancy much and it doesn't really translate to modern looks although a lot of the things they wore could easily be worn today - I mean tights, blazers, skirts... those things are in many a wardrobe.

If you haven't seen Heathers... look it up, watch it! (I'm pretty certain it is on instant viewing on a few sites including netflix). Basically there is a girl named Veronica (played by Winona Ryder) who is in a popular clique of girls in school all named Heather. She doesn't care for her friends much and meets a cute boy named J.D (Christian Slater) who convinces her to "prank" some of the popular kids by murdering them. So yeah, it's dark, it's easy to relate to, it's full of quotes, and it is surprisingly funny.

I decided to stick with the primary color scheme the girls wore in the movie and here we go.

Red: Heather Chandler (played by Kim Walker)

Quote: Dear Diary: Heather told me she teaches people "real life." She said, real life sucks losers dry. You want to fuck with the eagles, you have to learn to fly. I said, so, you teach people how to spread their wings and fly? She said, yes. I said, you're beautiful.

She's a beautiful dictator and this is how I would see her dressing today:

Movie Inspiration: Heathers - Red (Chandler)

It's a bit vampy but I can't help myself. Red and black always seems to translate to "vamp" to me but I loove red and black so *shrugs*.

Green: Heather Duke (played by Shannen Doherty)

Quote: "I prayed for the death of Heather Chandler many times and I felt bad everytime I did it but I kept doing it anyway. Now I know you understood everything. Praise Jesus, Hallelujah"

She wants to be the leader but secretly hates the leader.

Movie Inspiration: Heathers - Green (Duke)

Yellow: Heather McNamara (played by Lisanne Falk)

Quote: Veronica Sawyer: "If everyone jumped off a bridge, would you?"
            Heather McNamara the Cheerleader: "Probably."

The follower.

Movie Inspiration: Heathers - Yellow

Blue: Veronica Sawyer (played by Winona Ryder)

Quote: "This isn't just a spoke in my menstrual cycle"

She has seen the reality of life within the popular clique and wants out but doesn't know how to get out.

I'm not 100% satisfied but what do you think?

I figured I'd try something new, see how it goes.

TV Shows
1. Modern Family
My husband and I just started watching this and it is really funny.

2. Mad Men
I'm sad it's almost over but excited for it to come back.

3. Peaky Blinders
Admittedly I haven't watched much of this yet but I'm liking what I've seen and that opening theme is so cool.

4. Face Off

5. The Walking Dead
It's been a roller coaster and I've been skipping episodes because I can't handle the sadness.

Purchases
1. Eye scarves from ebay. Of course I wore this that one night and spilled meatball on it... I also got this same scarf in a yellow but it came with an odd scent? So weird right...

2. Bettie Page Heels. I hope to crikey these are comfortable or else.

3. Black and White Dress bought off Zulily. Can't wait for this one to come!

4. Woven Bowl bought at Costco, made by http://www.allacrossafrica.org.

5. Encyclopedia of Animals (bought at McKays).

Food

Only two but it's what I'm craving constantly.

And Easter Basket Cakes by Little Debbie. I blame my husband, he bought them randomly and I got addicted. Obviously I've been having a tough time sticking to my calorie limits with two such wholesome food addictions :\

Songs

1. Slug - Trust
2. Black No 1 - Type O Negative
3. Five Seconds - Twin Shadow
4. The Tinderbox (of a heart) - Cocteau Twins

Last Watched Movies

1. It Follows
I'm sort of on the fence about the movie, need to see it again to make a clear decision.

2. Wolf of Wall Street
It's a bit ridiculous how many times I've watched it in the past few weeks considering how long the movie is.

3. Tammy
"Muscle shirts are for muscles"

4. Jinx (The Robert Durst Docu)
How nutso is that dude?

5. *The Book of Life
I haven't watched this yet despite buying it weeks ago, this is more so a reminder to watch this!

Plans
1. VEGAS!
2. San Diego!
Did you know you can only see the snow leopards at the San Diego Zoo if you buy a $100 pass (per person) so :( I probably won't get to see some snow leopards.

3. Birthday

4. Hair?
I want to change up my hair a bit but I'm not sure how. I like the length (although I need a trim) but I want something a little different but not too different. Any suggestions?

5. Concerts!

Hey everyone. This was my fiance's last Sunday through Tuesday weekend, he switches to Thursday through Saturday (unless his schedule changes ...again) and we spent it pretty much how we usually spend our weekends - which usually includes me convincing him to give into my food cravings (stir fry at Genghis Grill, hamburgers, cookies, and too many hot dogs - "Many hot dogs are within you") and dragging him from store to store to look at Monster High sections and to hold my purse while I try on clothes and shoes. We also looked at comic books and role playing games so he had some fun too. I had a really limited shopping budget and I'm a super indecisive shopper already and ya know how it usually goes, you have a limited budget so you see 1342930482039 things you want and can only get one or can't afford 1342930482037 of the things you see. Why do they insist on making and stocking sparkly things when I don't have the budget to make them mine? I saw some sparkly bow flip flops, sparkly bow ballet flats, and a sparkly embellished cardigan all during my shopping adventure and I must say. how. dare. thee! That is three of my favorite things sparklified! Everyone knows I can't control myself around sparkly stuff. Everyone! Even the dead (...idk). The ballet flats didn't come in my size but I tried to squeeze my foot into a sz 9 anyway, even though I'm somewhere between a sz 10-11. I'm still thinking about the things I put back: which also include a hot pink cross body purse, a plaid fitted skirt originally from Talbots, a leather jacket on clearance, and a blue and purple sheer top. I ultimately ended up with a Monster High doll I've been coveting. I saw this really gorgeous white silk button up top with floral details at Burlington Coat Factory that I keep seeing twirl about on a hanger inside my head. Help me, I am addicted to wanting everything. I really try not to go overboard with my "wants" when it comes to shoes/clothes/purses/toys but I almost always do but hey if they'd stop making so much cute stuff then I wouldn't have to want it all. I know I've mentioned this problem of mine before but it doesn't seem to ever calm down. Does anyone else have this problem?

Speaking of clothes I have to share pictures of my two new favorite things in my wardrobe including these destroyed denim jeans I picked up from Target for less than $10 and this lace skirt from Deb that I think is absolutely stunning and was on sale for like $15. Have I mentioned how much I adore my black We Love Colors tights, they are the most comfy tights I have ever worn in my life! Gimme lifetime supply! I like how I couldn't be bothered to stand up and take pictures of my clothes, that is very typical of my slacker behavior.

Anyway, besides all my EXCESSIVE shopping lust, my Fiance and I watched 'Looper' and saw a trailer for 'Dark Skies'. I really enjoyed 'Looper', I thought it was a really original concept and I love anything that deals with "time travel." 'Dark Skies' looks creepy and full of aliens so I'm excited to catch that one, I love a good scary Alien movie.

I was really bummed to discover that I lost two followers but I haven't been keeping up with my blogging so I suppose I understand :( I do have to respond with "STELLLLLLLLLLLLLA" because I enjoy pretending to shout that in the streets and, and... you followers should come back...

I'm creeping up on my 100th post and I'm thinking of doing something special to celebrate but I'm not quite sure what yet. I've also slashed the prices in my shop, if anyone is interested most of the things are still up for sale. I haven't had much luck with my shop but would anyone be interested in shoes? They would be mostly in sizes 10 and 11. Lets me know.

Well, I've been superfluous enough for one day (superfluous, what a great effin' word ) so I better go. Talk soon loves and I haven't forgotten about my loot post I just keep getting distracted, but those of you who play The Sims 3 (cue the screenshots) know what I mean by distraction - aka 8 hours of playing that feels like 2 hours.

Hey everyone, I'm bringing you another inspiration post and for this post my inspiration is Summer Finn played the adorable, bambi-eyed, and always fabulously dressed Zooey Deschanel in the movie (500) Days of Summer. I know I say this every single inspiration post but this is one of my veryberry favorite movies, I put off seeing it until it was on DVD because I'm not typically a huge fan of the romantic comedy genre but this movie really struck a chord in me and I've now seen it over dozen times.

(500) Days of Summer is a story of boy meets girl. The boy, Tom Hansen (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), believes in true love and the girl, Summer Finn (Zooey Deschanel), does not. They meet working at a greeting card company and soon start seeing one another. It's a movie about love but it's not a love story. I took almost all of that verbatim from the trailer because as you are all painfully aware I kind of suck with movie synopsis. The movie is from Tom's point of view and it shows his struggle to understand and cope with the complexity of his relationship with someone who sees love/relationships/the relationship he is in a completely different light than he does. When I was younger I found myself in a very similar situation to the characters in this movie so I found the characters easy to relate to and it almost goes without saying that being in a one sided or complicated relationship is hard on the heart. If you haven't seen the movie I definitely suggest it, not only is it a great movie with wonderful cinematography, cute costumes/ characters, funny lines, and moments that push you over the tears-for-years cliff but it also has one of the best soundtracks!

I'm carrying on like I usually do so to summarize Summer Finn's wardrobe it would be lots of blue, the director did this intentionally because he was inspired by Zooey Deschanel's eyes. She wears lots of cute dresses, cardigans, and has a somewhat vintage vibe to her outfit choices (which yes, I would say probably describes Zooey's wardrobe but I personally love her sense of style).

I hope you like the outfits, I found so many things I thought would work perfectly that I had a hard time narrowing it down but I think I did well, the only things I would add are probably a pair of dark black tights and a basic dark cardigan because they go with everything and Summer's character wears them several times in the movie. I hope if you haven't seen the movie that you'll rush your butt out to rent it/buy it. As always I created these sets using Polyvore, feel free to follow my finds and sets HERE. I'm sitting here listening to a few songs from the movie and I'm feeling myself getting sucked into the movie again, I might just have to root through my boxes and put it on.

Have a great day, I'll see you in the next inspiration post.

Hello there, my trip went by so incredibly fast but that is what three day trips tend to do. Surprisingly enough (from my last post) I didn't over pack and I didn't put a Monster High doll in my carry on. I was however detained for special screening in my flight out of DC, I had to stand in the special box and go to the other side to be patted down. Admittedly I was a bit nervous but I was also a little confused, I mean c'mon, I couldn't possibly be the first person to pass through security with an underwire bra on! But we ladies know that the underwire is worth the stranger danger weapons check. It didn't take too long and before I knew it I was on the flight and reading my book about mafia man, Henry Hill, whilst listening to my ipod. Tampa was what it should be, sunny and ...full of lizards. My first half day there was quite productive; I had lots of giggles and chat time with the family, saw the house which was bigger and bluer (blue carpet, blue blinds, blue bathroom) in person, ate some spaghetti, and went to the Batman Marathon. Of course though I started to nod off during 'The Dark Knight Rises' (the only movie I hadn't already seen, effin' figures) because I was so exhausted, I felt like a toddler after a long day at Chuck E' Cheese. It was quite a long day, I didn't even get to my hotel to check in till 4AM and I couldn't help but giggle when the guy at the front desk mentioned that breakfast started in 2 and 1/2 hours.

Isn't the house cute? I love the trees. It has been sitting vacant for a bit so it needs a little TLC and I also doubt that anyone will catch me in the sunroom when the temperature is over 75 degrees because it was mighty toast in there but other than that I was really quite pleased with the house.

On the second day, Row and I went to Bayport (pictured above), did a little window shopping, and picked up Thai food. Before I knew it was time to leave and despite the heat I just felt very at ease in Florida, everything is very laid back - sometimes amusingly so, like the maid in the hotel lobby talking about walking in on a couple during a "special" moment and seeing a woman without a helmet on the back of a motorcycle smoking a cigarette.

I felt like we had arrived into the land of Gloom with the grey clouds and drizzle in DC and then the bumper to bumper traffic on the way home.

Let's play spot the national monument.

I'm still on the fence whether to move or not, my boyfriend is leaning towards going and I'm still not quite sure.

Instead of going into a long wordy post about what I've been up to, I think I could just narrow it down to a handful of current obsessions, this is not to say that I won't go into a lengthy post sooner or later because I mean come on, I can't change that much.

My boyfriend and I saw Prometheus last weekend and we both really enjoyed it, even though someone in the theater let their phone ring till it went to voicemail, TWICE. A few people told me that the movie in fact sucked BUT... I kicked them in the shins and ran away so in more mature words "NOT UH". I recently rediscovered - there is no way I did not notice this before hand - the fact that at one of the local theaters near here that they have frozen yogurt so I was eating yogurt and watching a movie on the big screen at the same time, it was mostly heaven, except for the fact that I don't think I got through the trailers before the yogurt was all gone.... We also saw 'Dark Shadows' and although I liked it, I kinda felt like it started to drop off mid-way through the movie but I loved Eva Green as a creepy, bad ass witch in full on bat shit obsession mode with Johnny Depp (this is not hard to imagine...).

If and when I find these, especially Operetta and Ghoulia, I'm about 99% there will be jumping up and down, fake crying, and lots of squealing. I've even gotten into the cartoon, so yeah, this addiction is getting more and more serious by the minute. I've been searching the country side for them and haven't seen them anywhere :(

Credit
Yes, I'm still on my 'Roseanne' kick, especially the Halloween episodes - I wish I had a family that was as into Halloween as their "family" was. Come on now, how cute is this picture? I adore John Goodman and the expression on his face here is priceless.

Many people have tried to spread the 'Shannon and the Clams' love but only very recently have I decided to start scribbling Mrs. Shannon and the Clams in my notebook over and over again.

Last but certainly not least I've been in full 'The Sims 3' mania for days, my life is now currently been overtaken by the Simlish speaking natives. I just got 'The Sims 3: Showtime' as a gift and all I can say is look out time, I'm going to waste the shit out of you (so yeah it is an understatement to say that it has gotten worse). If you play The Sims 3, add me on The Sims 3 website, illivonray. There I go with the wordy post anyway...
