Just look up a cat named Joe. I don't know about you but I always seek out cats, whether they're named Joe or not. Anyway, yes, I ventured to Mexico recently. I have yet to get a stamp in my passport though, sons of bitches. I did take a cruise so ya know, no stamps for the cruisers I suppose. I love cruises - I ate a ton of desserts, relaxed on a floating city that lulls you to sleep, watched a ton of movies, made friends with the a sweet old couple, spent time with my family, and ventured to port to buy silly things, put my feetsies in the ocean, and SEE DOLPHINS (highlight of my life). I miss it greatly and can't wait to go on another one. OOOH and I had room service every morning and mostly wore a robe... ah, as vacation should be.

I also spent an arm and a leg on internet service because I'm an addict but that's neither here nor there... my dears. I also lost one of my credit cards before I even made it on the ship so those two things kind of sucked but meh.

Being back at work has been hard, I miss my naps, room service, and movies! Guess who also wore her first bikini in forever? Yep, your mom. I'm kidding, me obviously. Maybe I'll devote a post to it.

Well, I hope everyone is well and I have an upcoming blog post in mind all about a movie obsession.

I am back from Vegas and yesterday was my 30th birthday. I always feel a little melancholy after vacation and also around my birthday so I have to admit, yesterday and the day before were a bit tough. Lots of junk food and quite a few tears. I'm doing better today though, just trying to fight the urge to take a nap. That time difference and the fact that Vegas operates wayy later than most cities has left my husband and I really tired - and the walking! We did so much m effin' walking, I literally broke a record on moves and my phone did not work in half of the casinos and my husband and I were lost in many a casino. All the casinos/hotels were massive and a bit confusing, especially with some margarita in your system - my husband tried to go out a fire exit about 3 times. What gets me about it too is when I was like "you can't go out the fire exit?" he was like "but it's an exit". Someone wanted to get arrested in Vegas... that someone was not me.

We went to Freemont St, saw some exhibits at the Luxor, went to the Shark Reef at the Mandalay Bay, saw the fountain, picked up the pace when a homeless man started yelling at "Terry" in his book bag, saw the volcano at the Mirage, saw many a sky jumper at the Stratosphere, and spent the majority of our money on alcohol and drinks (fridges, Vegas, fridges!).

To round off this post, here is a few pictures of my drunk ass at the Venetian waiting for my husband to get out of the bathroom.

Why couldn't I have gone towards the gondolas and took a picture? Well... there were people there and I was drunk and didn't want to make that second face in front of them.

I figured I'd try something new, see how it goes.

TV Shows
1. Modern Family
My husband and I just started watching this and it is really funny.

2. Mad Men
I'm sad it's almost over but excited for it to come back.

3. Peaky Blinders
Admittedly I haven't watched much of this yet but I'm liking what I've seen and that opening theme is so cool.

4. Face Off

5. The Walking Dead
It's been a roller coaster and I've been skipping episodes because I can't handle the sadness.

Purchases
1. Eye scarves from ebay. Of course I wore this that one night and spilled meatball on it... I also got this same scarf in a yellow but it came with an odd scent? So weird right...

2. Bettie Page Heels. I hope to crikey these are comfortable or else.

3. Black and White Dress bought off Zulily. Can't wait for this one to come!

4. Woven Bowl bought at Costco, made by http://www.allacrossafrica.org.

5. Encyclopedia of Animals (bought at McKays).

Food

Only two but it's what I'm craving constantly.

And Easter Basket Cakes by Little Debbie. I blame my husband, he bought them randomly and I got addicted. Obviously I've been having a tough time sticking to my calorie limits with two such wholesome food addictions :\

Songs

1. Slug - Trust
2. Black No 1 - Type O Negative
3. Five Seconds - Twin Shadow
4. The Tinderbox (of a heart) - Cocteau Twins
5. In the Gold Dust Rush - Cocteau Twins

Sites
1. Zulily (duh)
2. The Sims Resource (I've been playing The Sims 3 a lot as of late)
3. Apartment Therapy (always)
4. Mars Attacks Kreepsville 666
5. 10 Abandoned Buildings in Virginia

Wishlist

1. Lush bubble bar
2. Lush bath bombs
3. Bathtub caddy

Clearly I'm into baths lately.

4. New laptop and new gps.
5. Florence and the Machine Concert Tickets!

Last Watched Movies

1. It Follows
I'm sort of on the fence about the movie, need to see it again to make a clear decision.

2. Wolf of Wall Street
It's a bit ridiculous how many times I've watched it in the past few weeks considering how long the movie is.

3. Tammy
"Muscle shirts are for muscles"

4. Jinx (The Robert Durst Docu)
How nutso is that dude?

5. *The Book of Life
I haven't watched this yet despite buying it weeks ago, this is more so a reminder to watch this!

Plans
1. VEGAS!
2. San Diego!
Did you know you can only see the snow leopards at the San Diego Zoo if you buy a $100 pass (per person) so :( I probably won't get to see some snow leopards.

3. Birthday

4. Hair?
I want to change up my hair a bit but I'm not sure how. I like the length (although I need a trim) but I want something a little different but not too different. Any suggestions?

5. Concerts!

Hello there, my trip went by so incredibly fast but that is what three day trips tend to do. Surprisingly enough (from my last post) I didn't over pack and I didn't put a Monster High doll in my carry on. I was however detained for special screening in my flight out of DC, I had to stand in the special box and go to the other side to be patted down. Admittedly I was a bit nervous but I was also a little confused, I mean c'mon, I couldn't possibly be the first person to pass through security with an underwire bra on! But we ladies know that the underwire is worth the stranger danger weapons check. It didn't take too long and before I knew it I was on the flight and reading my book about mafia man, Henry Hill, whilst listening to my ipod. Tampa was what it should be, sunny and ...full of lizards. My first half day there was quite productive; I had lots of giggles and chat time with the family, saw the house which was bigger and bluer (blue carpet, blue blinds, blue bathroom) in person, ate some spaghetti, and went to the Batman Marathon. Of course though I started to nod off during 'The Dark Knight Rises' (the only movie I hadn't already seen, effin' figures) because I was so exhausted, I felt like a toddler after a long day at Chuck E' Cheese. It was quite a long day, I didn't even get to my hotel to check in till 4AM and I couldn't help but giggle when the guy at the front desk mentioned that breakfast started in 2 and 1/2 hours.

Isn't the house cute? I love the trees. It has been sitting vacant for a bit so it needs a little TLC and I also doubt that anyone will catch me in the sunroom when the temperature is over 75 degrees because it was mighty toast in there but other than that I was really quite pleased with the house.

On the second day, Row and I went to Bayport (pictured above), did a little window shopping, and picked up Thai food. Before I knew it was time to leave and despite the heat I just felt very at ease in Florida, everything is very laid back - sometimes amusingly so, like the maid in the hotel lobby talking about walking in on a couple during a "special" moment and seeing a woman without a helmet on the back of a motorcycle smoking a cigarette.

I felt like we had arrived into the land of Gloom with the grey clouds and drizzle in DC and then the bumper to bumper traffic on the way home.

Let's play spot the national monument.

I'm still on the fence whether to move or not, my boyfriend is leaning towards going and I'm still not quite sure.

I'm sorry for the delay in posting about my wonderful vacation but I've been pretty ill, I mentioned how I caught a cold toward the end of my trip, well I also had an infection that spread to my kidneys so I've been really out of it. I had to go to the Emergency Room on Friday night, which I absolutely despise doing. I hate hospitals, I hate needles, and I hate having blood drawn but my sides were really killing me and left me no choice ("Left me defenseless!"). Luckily the Doctors and Nurses were all very nice and they were playing 'Mansquito' on the SyFy channel so that helped me have a better experience. The Doctor said I had a white blood cell count of 18,000 when it should be 11,000 so that was pretty eye opening. I've been on antibiotics, mucinex to combat the cold, drinking lots of water (think Hoover Dam, "Where can I get some Dam bait?"), and lots of sleep since then.

I'm currently experiencing the post vacation blues especially since I've been sick. I want to go back on vacation! I had such a lovely time. We did end up stopping in Charleston, South Carolina and briefly traveled through Orlando, Florida as well but we didn't end up stopping by Epcot. The majority of the vacation was spent in Dunedin, Tampa, and Spring Hill, Florida. The weather was so nice that I almost forgot that it was Winter, I really miss wearing my flip flops. I miss seeing the ocean, I miss how friendly everyone was (people waved at us! I was confused, I don't even make eye contact with my neighbors), and I really miss the sweet tea! Great googly moogly the sweet tea is good down there, even the Publix had delicious sweet tea, us Northerners really need to figure out this whole sweet tea thing - Get it together Yankees!

We spent two days including Valentines Day in Savannah which was a bit of a surprise arranged by my boyfriend. We stopped by Forysth Park, Bonaventure Cemetery, and The River Walk. I liked Savannah, the Spanish Moss was great but it seems like the economy has hit the area a little hard which made me a bit sad.

The second picture was taken at Bonaventure Cemetery and the rest are in and around Forsyth Park. I love Southern style architecture, the last picture is now an art college of some sort, I was squealing outside it trying to take pictures from every angle until my boyfriend told me I looked like a stalker and dragged me away, it was so beautiful - I almost cried from the abundance of architectural beauty. You can't get arrested for stalking pretty buildings, actually, you probably can...

I really liked the River Walk area in Savannah as well, although it wasn't very long. It was full of jewelry shops, candy stores, bars, tourist shops, restaurants, and things of the sort all situated in super old looking buildings with amazing character. As you can tell there was also a tram that ran through from time to time. I bought a colorful dress that I've caught Hero trying to nom on, this absolutely amazing praline something (I don't recall what it was called, it was kind of like brittle but softer? Gophers! That's what they were, my boyfriend kept giving me the stink eye when I said they were called gophers but they were!) that I should have bought more of, and spotted some cute jewelry that I didn't actually end up buying. Savannah was good ol' times and Paula Deen's face was slapped on a ton of stuff. I lost my shit though when some stranger knocked on our hotel door at 1am, I was ready to slam the door open and throw some hotel furniture at him.

Look out for post number two including appearances by the Sunny State of Florida. I'm seriously shocked that I haven't dreamed about those praline gophers, if you pass through Savannah buy as many gophers as you can physically manage, you won't regret it.

Hey everyone, I'm (mostly) back and have so much catching up to do. I had such a great time and have so many pictures and memories to share with you. Unfortunately, I caught an infection and a cold simultaneously towards the end of our trip so I'm waiting to spring back into normalcy, which as often as I experience illness you might count as normalcy /immunesystemfail. We arrived home early this morning and the cats were extremely elated to see us as were we to see them, I was hopping in my seat, I couldn't wait to see their faces - I've squeezed in many a cuddle with them today despite being pretty ill. I will be back soon with all the details and many, MANY pictures but here is a little sneak preview of Savannah, Georgia and Caladesi State Park in Dunedin, FL.

I have returned from New York City, we got back around 3:30PM yesterday actually but only now am I starting to feel back to normal. I always feel this sense of melancholy when I get back from vacation because I'm thinking of all the things that went wrong, all the things I missed, how much fun I had, how much I didn't want it to end, if and when I will get to go back and see all the things I missed, etc. Also my legs and feet are beat from all that walking, phew. It is nice to be home with my beloved kitties and fiance, I missed them (even though I was only gone 2 days). New York City really is an amazing city. The trip was a mixed bag of good and bad but overall I had a good time. I'll go into more detail later but I wanted to post some pictures.

On another note, today is my little sister Becky's birthday, she is 15! She is the one in the white cardigan.

One of my best friends who I mentioned in a previous post is having a hard time right now and is in the process of getting separated, if anyone could help her out, or just have well wishes for her it would be greatly appreciated. They are awesome people and starting over can be very hard and they've all been through a lot. I have a link HERE if you want to help.
